Will a vulnerability scan damage my site, or pose a threat to my data?

Acunetix WVS is designed to scan in a non destructive manner, which means that it will not delete or corrupt and existing data in your database. Acunetix WVS does try to insert some test data into the database as part of the SQL Injection test routines which are performed, however these entries can easily be deleted after the scan. It is also good to mention that Acunetix has never received any reports about databases being compromised or damaged as a result of a web vulnerability scan.
