Migrating Data in Acunetix 360 On-Premises

While using Acunetix 360 On-Premises, you may need to move to a new server. In that case, you can migrate your existing scan data and database. Doing so requires you to take careful steps.

There are four steps for this process:

  1. Back up your database.
  2. Back up Acunetix 360's data.
  3. Re-Install Acunetix 360 On-Premises onto the new server.
  4. Transfer the backup files to the new server.

Information

This instruction assumes that you installed Acunetix 360 On-Premises to the default location, which is C:\Program Files (x86). If not, please change the relevant step in the instruction accordingly.

Warning

Make sure that you have administrator privileges to carry out the data migration.

Step 1. Backing up database

In order to migrate to a new server and continue using Acunetix 360 On-Premises with your existing data, you need to back up your database, first. To do so, you have to follow the instructions here.

Tips

If your database is in the cloud environment, you do not need to back up your database. You only need to provide the connection details while re-installing Acunetix 360 On-Premises.


Step 2. Backing up your scan data, report policies, and logs

Once you back up your database, you can back up your scan data, report policies, and logs.

  1. Press the Windows logo key  + E.
  2. Paste the following address into the address bar: C:\Program Files (x86)\Acunetix 360 Web Application\App_Data
  3. Select Scan Data, Report Policies, and Logs folders.
  4. Back up the said files.

Step 3. Re-installing Acunetix 360 On-Premises

You need to have a fresh install of Acunetix 360 On-Premises. To do this, follow the instructions in Installing and Configuring Acunetix 360 On-Premises.

Information

Before the fresh installation, restore the database into the new system if your database was not in the cloud environment.

During the installation, Acunetix 360 On-Premises prompts you to enter details about your database. You can enter the new data source, database name, etc. during the installation.

Tips

Starting from Acunetix 360 On-Premises 2.2, the installation wizard creates a secret key to encrypt your data. If you encrypted your data using the On-Premises 2.2, Acunetix 360 asks you to enter the secret key during the reinstallation. For further information, see Encryption Settings.

Step 4. Transferring copied data

After installing Acunetix 360 On-Premises, you need to restore the scan data, report policies, and logs to your new environment.

  1. Press the Windows logo key  + E.
  2. Paste the following address into the address bar: C:\Program Files (x86)\Acunetix 360 Web Application\App_Data
  3. Paste the backup files into the App_Data folder.
