Adding Targets

Targets are the websites and web applications that you would like to scan using Acunetix. Targets are added to Acunetix either from the Discovery page or the Targets page.

This guide shows you how to manually add Targets and how you can import Targets from another application using a CSV file.

How to add a Target

  1. Select Targets > Add Targets from the Acunetix menu.
  2. In the Address field, enter the URL of the web asset that you want to scan.
  3. In the Description field, enter a short description that will allow you to easily identify this target.
  4. Optionally, click Add another Target if you want to add another target, then fill in the address and description fields.
  5. Click Save.

Your target is added and you can now proceed to configure any additional settings for the new target.

How to import Targets using a CSV file

If your Targets are already configured in another application, such as an Asset Management application, you might want to export the Targets from the 3rd party application and import them into Acunetix. This will save on the Target Configuration time. You can import a number of Targets into Acunetix using a .csv file by following the steps below:

  1. Select Targets > Add Targets from the Acunetix menu.
  2. Click Import CSV.

  1. Click in the CSV File field then select your .csv file to import. The file should have the following format: Address, Description. For example, http://testphp.vulnweb.com, PhP Test Site
  2. Click Import.

Confirm that all the Targets have been imported. You can now configure settings for the new Targets.
