Acunetix secures over 100 Chunghwa Telecom websites

Chunghwa Telecom is Taiwan’s largest integrated telecommunications services company that provides fixed-line, mobile, broadband, and internet services. The Company also provides information and communication technology services to corporate customers and is expanding its cloud computing services. Chunghwa Telecom was founded on June 15, 1996 as part of the Taiwan government’s privatization efforts. It is currently listed on both the Taiwan Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange. To-date the organization employs close to 12,000 employees.

Lower cost, higher performance

Having used IBM AppScan in the past, they wanted to find a solution that would meet their needs at lower costs. Before opting for Acunetix, the Research Technology and Service Department at Chunghwa Telecom, analysed both Acunetix and HP Webinspect and found Acunetix to be more suitable for their application scenario.

Increased staff productivity

It is critical for Chunghwa Telecom’s success, that every member of the Research and Development Team is as efficient and productive as possible. Approximately 50 developers at Chunghwa Telecom are currently using Acunetix Enterprise Edition during the Software Development Lifecycle, on over 100 internal websites. Chunghwa Telecom routinely tests .NET, Java and Visual Basic applications running on Microsoft IIS and Ubuntu, using Acunetix, for which it has proven to be very effective. Ever since deploying Acunetix the results were resounding, experiencing an approximate 30% increase in staff productivity.
